Oh gosh.

I can’t even begin to describe how much I LOVEEE music.

It’s entertaining, it’s fun, it’s a confidence booster, it’s a conversation starter, & hell – nothing has ever made me more productive. I totally swear by it when it comes to getting shit done & becoming the best version of yourself.

For me, music = motivation. I like it loud –  HA!

Especially when working out. YES.

But, sometimes music is very much underrated. People don’t usually relate music to productivity because they find that it can be very distracting. However, this just isn’t always the case – it might be a distraction sometimes, but that’s a GOOD thing. Reallyyy & truly.

When I’m just about to die during my third mile on the treadmill? Music totally without a doubt keeps me going. I guess when I’m so busy listening to the lyrics & beats, I don’t pay much attention to my rapidly beating heart or the sweat dripping off of my face.

If you’re just starting to work out & the going gets seriously tough, crank up the tunes.

Because, music distracts you from the fact that you’re working your ass off … & the lyrics can be pretty damn motivating.

“Work, work, work, work, work.”


So, YES.

First thing to do when you walk into the gym? Put your playlist on shuffle & turn it up. It’ll be fun! Trust me.

( I felt like this needed to be said … so many people look bored as hell at the gym without music, lol! )

Quite honestly, I wouldn’t love working out as much as I do if it weren’t for music. I’m talking : hitting the gym 5-7 days a week, 1-2 hours a day.

Let’s just say I’d be VERY unmotivated / burnt out / bored if I didn’t have my playlist handy!

On another semi-related note : don’t let anyone tell you that listening to music distracts you from focusing during a work or study session.

In fact, don’t ever let anyone tell you that what works for you doesn’t work.

If it makes you happy & you’re seeing progress toward your goals, it obviously DOES.

Like I listen to chill / tropical house while studying & I get along great … Classical music on the other hand, which works for tons of people, puts me to sleep. ALWAYS pick & choose what works for you!
