[ a VERY detailed ceiling @ Château de Chenonceau – always pay attention to detail so that shit doesn’t hit the
fan ceiling, y’know? ]
Here’s a story for ya – kind of a travel horror story if you will.
DRAMATIC … Just in time for Halloween?
As you guys know, I’m studying abroad in Paris at the mo’ – which means that the fall break ( a.k.a. : the week of Halloween, which the U.S. doesn’t count as a no-school holiday, but Europe does) will involve lots of travel & wanderlust.
Seriously, I’ll be going from place to place & snapping ALL OF IT – come hang!
Thankfully, I don’t have Friday classes this semester – SO I had originally planned to make the most of my free time by going to London earlier than the rest of my girlfriends.
& I definitely wanted to have a few of my own Nancy Drew self-exploration moments, y’know?

Of course, things don’t always go as planned … & when that happens, it sucks beyond belief.
There I was, with my hopefully-under-22-lb suitcase lagging behind me & my Longchamp bag weighing down my shoulder, stepping off the metro after being on it for 16 stops ( yup, I counted – I was that bored ) … when I took out my ticket & saw the deets.
The first word that came to mind? NOT a pretty one.
I mixed up the dates when I was booking my ticket & accidentally got one for the next night. Which, after the measures taken to get there ( about 11 flights of stairs w/ my all of my stuff + finally booking possibly one of the best hostels in London ), was so, so incredibly aggravating.

Now, I usually go a lil’ psycho when it comes to attention to detail. Not even kidding, I was that one girl working in A&F who actually buttoned up every single button & zipped up every single zipper … just to make sure that everything looked nice & floor-ready.
Psycho, OCD much?

& yes, I did re-design my blog about a million times ( Tiffany can tell you all about it … ? ) before deciding that it was good enough. But who knows what I’ll think next month? Or even next week?
After this unpleasant experience, it became obvious to me just how important attention to detail was. Who cares if I’m a little OCD / psycho about it? It gets the job done!!!
So, lesson learned : Feel free to go a lil’ psycho sometimes about the details – it definitely pays to pay attention.
Okay, now I’d love to hear some of your unfortunate traveling stories ( self-inflicted or not ). It’ll be a great bonding moment – HA! x
